H.E. Dr. Bandar Alknawy Launched the 2016 Patient Safety Conference
On behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Miteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Minister of National Guard, H.E. Chief Executive Officer of Ministry of National Guard - Health Affairs, President of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences, Dr. Bandar Alknawy launched today, the 19th of April 2016 the 2016 Patient Safety Conference, organized by the MNG-HA and held at the Convention Center, KSAU-HS-Riyadh.
On this occasion, H.E. Dr. Bandar Alknawy delivered a speech in which he welcomed the attendees and conveyed a message from His Royal Highness Prince Miteb bin Abdullah, where he said: “His Royal Highness asked me to diliver to you his greetings and appreciation, and to extend his apology for not being able to attend this vital forum, wishing you all success”.
In addition, Dr. Alknawy pointed out that this forum comes among a series of effective scientific conferences that are essential to the development of quality and safety of healthcare in addition for raising awareness towards patient safety, which is the duty of healthcare facilities and a patient’s right. Moreover, patient safety is considered one of the most important basics of healthcare performance that focuses on improving all patient safety related issues . Also, healthcare facilities should strengthen health practitioners’ basics training levels to further create a safe environment that provides excellent medical care by adhering to international standards, thus reducing complications and avoiding medical mistakes.
Moreover, Dr. Alkanawy pointed out that the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdul Aziz Crown Prince, Deputy Premier, Minister of Interior, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Crown Prince, Second Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense, significantly impacts the healthcare development sectors through meeting the needs in this vital field; and setting up long-term expansion plans for healthcare services that meetan international standards.
In addition, Dr. Alkanawy extended his gratitude to His Royal Highness Prince Miteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Minister of National Guard for his support to further achieve MNG-HA, KSAU-HS and King Abdullah International Medical Research Center’s goals and objectives, , where the MNG-HA now enters a new era of excellency.
Last but not least, Dr. Alkanawy expressed his appreciation towards all MNG-HA’s employees for their dedication on providing excellent patient care, achieving patient satisfaction and on their continuous contributions to improve the performance and quality of the services provided. At the end of the opening ceremony, he presented the international and local speakers with commemorative plaques for their contributions.
It is worth to mention that the Patent Safety Forum, which is being held for the sixth consecutive year and attracts the attention of various health practitioners from different categories and sectors, will last for three days from the 19th till the 21st of April 2016.
