​Conclusion of the 8th Patient Safety Forum His Highness Prince Khalid bin Abdulaziz bin Mohamed bin Eyaf Almuqrin, Minister of National Guard, sponsored the 8th Annual Patient Safety Forum, which was organized by the Ministry of National Guard – Health Affairs (MNG-HA) and King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS) in the Convention Center, with the participation of experts, specialists and health practitioners from Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and other countries.

Executive Director of Quality Management and Patient Safety and Chairman of the Scientific Committee Dr. Abdulmohsen Alsaawi, pointed out that maintaining the safety of patients is currently the biggest challenges facing all global health systems.

In addition, H.E. Chief Executive Officer of Ministry of National Guard - Health Affairs, President of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences, Dr. Bandar Al Knawy stated that The importance of benefiting from the scientific research movement in the medical fields and its leading role in achieving the 2030 vision which will accomplish an economic support represented by the knowledge economy. Dr. Al Knawy also pointed out that the Ministry of National Guard – Health Affairs sought to activate all plans and strategies to achieve the objectives of the vision In the areas of health care, including the organization of scientific conferences.

Additionally, Dr. Al Knawy stressed that the conference has become part of a series of scientific conferences that are effective and vital in the process of patient safety development and awareness, and that this year's conference focused on information technology or health informatics and its importance in supporting patient safety through technical means. 

The conference lasted five consecutive days, during this period, 12 workshops were held until the 12th of April 2018 on Thursday.

Last but not least, the Scientific Committee also announced the date of the 9th Patient Safety Forum, which will be held in in Jeddah for the first time on 3-7 March 2019.
