Significance of Oral Health and Dental Health to College Students
Current health issues can be caused by poor oral health practices, however, future health issues can also be caused by current poor oral health practices.
Educating college students about oral health today may prevent dental health issues in their futures.
Health literacy is vital at all stages of life, but promoting health literacy amongst college students sets them up for a lifetime of an improved literacy for health.
These dental and oral health education efforts could establish positive dental and oral health habits among college students and thus positively impacting their long term health and wellness.
The College of Dentistry students divided the camping into two groups, the male student, based in Collage of Dentistry buildings main entrance, and the female students at Collage of Sciences and Health Professions.
The Campaign’s target group was the students of KSAU-HS, where healthy food and healthy diets broachers were also distributed.
The last day of the campaign was held at the Rehabilitation Center at the Ministry of Labor and Social Development.
The targeted group involved both children and female adults, who required special, care either mentally, physically or socially. Hands-on practice on oral health care between the health educators and the target group was carried out with high enthusiasm.
Continuation of Accomplishment:
On behalf of the Dental Public Committee, we are committed to improving the oral health through public education and campaigns and these continuous efforts are long-standing and ongoing in KAMC-R.
Preventive care, particularly pediatric dental care, is essential for giving children the proper foundation for a healthy life, from childhood through adolescence and beyond.
