​PMBAH Launches Antibiotics Awareness Campaign

Executive Director of Medical Services, Dr. Walid Al Yafi, Deputy Executive Director of Operations, PMBAH, Mr. Mansour Al Askar and Deputy Executive Director of Medical Services, Dr. Tarik  Khashoggi launched Antibiotics Awareness Campaign in Prince Mohammed Bin Abdul Aziz Hospital–AlMadinah (PMBAH) through a visit to the campaign’s exhibition where the participants raised awareness about antibiotics.

This campaign which was organized by Department of Infection Prevention and Control aims to raise awareness about antibiotics, the importance of using them correctly after consulting healthcare providers, and to encourage governments, institutions and individuals to change ways of using antibiotics which will affect positively on public health.

In addition, the awareness exhibition included several awareness booths presented by Infection Prevention and Control, Pharmaceutical Services, Medical Laboratory and Quality Management/Patient Safety departments.

Moreover, Dr. Zakia Bukhari presented an awareness lecture entitled "The Inappropriate Use of Antibiotics", followed by Dr. Farouq Al-Awadhi’s lecture entitled " Bacterial Resistance to Antibiotics ". Also, Dr. Zaid Jafar presented a lecture entitled "Preventive Use of Antibiotics." Last but not least, the session was concluded with an open scientific discussion in which specialists and attendees discussed issues of antibiotic.
