Blood Bank Syste​m Launching in All Regions

 
Following the directives of H.E. Chief Executive Officer of Ministry of National Guard - Health Affairs, President of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences, Dr. Bandar Al Knawy, the Blood Bank System project has initiated its commencement in all NGHA’s medical cities, where the 1st phase of the project was launched on Friday, the 13th of March 2015 in Riyadh, moreover, the 2nd phase has been successfully completed on Saturday 21st of March 2015 in the westren region. Finally, the 3rd phase of the project were completed in the eastern region on Friday 27th of March 2015.

The project aims to provide an integrated electronic system through which all Blood Bank related operations will be supported, starting from the received requests to sending results without any human intervention to avoid any obstacles.

The system was set up in order to facilitate and regulate the operations carried out within the blood bank which ultimately increases the laboratories labs productivity. Given the increasing demands for blood bank laboratories, which requires an integrated and an accurate system, the specialized system that was chosen is considered one of the best systems in the field of blood banks around the world.

In addition, this system is compatible with the highest international standards for blood banks, which ensures the safety of blood transfusion from laboratories to patients as well as being accredited by the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB).

Furthermore, the project was completed within a short period not exceeding three months, due to the efforts of a joint taskforce from all the Ministry of National Guard - Health Affairs facilities.
