An International Accreditation for Pathology and Laboratory Medicine in KAMC-R

King Abdulaziz Medical City’s  in Riyadh laboratory marks a new world achievement, having been selected as one of the top medical laboratories in the world by The College of American Pathologists (CAP), the world's largest association composed exclusively of pathologists and is widely recognized as the leader in laboratory quality assurance.

Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Chairman Mr. Abdulaziz Al Ajlan, pointed out that achievement came about after receiving the CAP accreditation in 1986, the Joint Commission International (JCI) Accreditation for 4 times on a row and Advanced Transfusion and Cellular Therapies Worldwide (AABB) as a result upholding high quality standards and continuous improvements to raise the level of services and staff in addition to being up to date with the latest hardware developments to acquire the most accurate results.

Mr. Al Ajlan also added that the last global accreditation was from Westgard accreditation being one of the ten clinical laboratories in the world, for apply the SIX SIGMA standards, the highest international quality standards.

In addition, the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Department in MNG-HA will soon receive the International ISO Laboratory Accreditation to be the first laboratory in the Middle East  to receive such accreditation.

It is worth mentioning that the MNG-HA is always keen on the development of short/long term strategic plans in order to achieve our leadership ambitious visions in raising the level of specialized medical services with the highest quality and safety measures. In addition to promoting continuous medical education programs to further develop the health workers' skills to acquire significant experience in order to provide outstanding levels of therapeutic services to all patients.
