Represented by the Primary Healthcare Center and Family Medicine Department; Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Hospital of the Ministry of National Guard’s Health affairs, launched an early screening initiative to eliminate hepatitis virus on Wednesday the 9th of February 2020, with the presence of Sumaia Alsharif, Medical Director. 

The campaign was intended to raise awareness regarding the importance of early screening to prevent hepatitis and treat patients. This campaign is part of the Kingdom’s strategy to treat 90% of affected patients by 2030.

This initiative includes conducting a blood test for patients within the targeted age group of 40 to 75 years, provided that the affected cases are transferred to the specialized departments to start the treatment course, which will help to prevent the disease from developing and also prevent the complications that may occur and the possibility of a hepatitis epidemic.
