In a new national achievement, Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Hospital at the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs in Madinah, has been accredited by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) as the first autism-friendly healthcare facility in the Kingdom. The accreditation certificate was presented by the “Tamakkon" Autism Association in Madinah, the authorized body by the board, as part of the “Autism-Friendly Madinah" initiative—an initiative launched under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Madinah Region, with the aim of making Madinah the first autism-friendly city in the Middle East.A group from Tamakkon visited the hospital to deliver the accreditation, led by the association's Executive Director Dr. Adel Al Oufi, who congratulated the hospital's leadership on this national milestone. He expressed his gratitude to the hospital staff for their cooperation and dedication in training and preparing multidisciplinary teams to meet the IBCCES requirements and standards. Dr. Al Oufi emphasized that this and other achievements—especially Madinah's recognition as the first autism-friendly city in the Middle East—reflect the ongoing support and care of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Sultan.

Dr. Turki Al Wasaidi, Executive Director of Medical Services at the hospital, stated that this accreditation represents a significant addition to both the national accomplishments of the Kingdom and specifically to the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs. He noted that this recognition will enhance healthcare services in Madinah, as the hospital staff is now scientifically and professionally trained to deal with autism cases at all levels of care. Dr. Al Wasaidi added that the hospital remains committed to excellence across all medical services by adhering to the highest international standards in every specialized field.

Additionally, Mr. Mansour bin Nasser Al Askar, Executive Director of Operations at the hospital, affirmed that this national achievement is part of a series of distinguished local and international accomplishments made by Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Hospital.
