Launching of the Medical Digital Library

Under the auspices of HE Dr. Bandar Al Knawy, Chief Executive Officer, NGHA, the Health Sciences Library launched of the NGHA and KSAU-HS Digital Library today Tuesday, 26th of January 2010 at the Dr. Sameer Bin Huraib (Large) Auditorium at 9:00 am. The launch included an orientation and display of the digital library databases during the event.

The medical digital library is a modern, integrated service through to all employees of National Guard Health Affairs, King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences and King Abdullah International Medical Research Center to access a large number of databases, journals and electronic books available in a very modern and accessible way.

The Digital Library will provide a set of advanced services such as search service information through a single search point, comprehensive lists of all available books and electronic journals, a direct link service to easily access complete texts, as well as the ability to customize the service individually to suit the needs of all employees.

The library will also save time and effort to find the required material with quick and easy research tools. In addition, an interactive digital environment is provided to support all clinical, educational and research activities in all the NGHA centers. It’s worth mentioning that the National Guard Health Affairs is one of the first Saudi authorities to launch an integrated digital library with this level of advanced service to medical research.
