Imam Abdul Rahman Bin Faisal Hospital in Dammam celebrates the 100th knee replacement operation

Under the auspices of the Chief Medical Officer at the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs, Dr. Saad Al Mohrij, Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal Hospital in Dammam celebrated the success of 100 knee replacement operations within a year using the latest robotic device.

Dr. Khaled Asiri, a Consultant Orthopedist and Spine Surgeon at Imam Abdul Rahman bin Faisal Hospital confirmed that the results were impressive, and the patient could walk after completing the operation within a day or two. Dr. Asiri explained that there are criteria for selecting suitable patients for this type of operation, including the patient's health history, movement, muscle strength, and general health. An evaluation in an outpatient clinic determines these criteria to determine whether a patient can undergo a traditional joint replacement procedure or through a robotic device.

At the end of the ceremony, the participating departments in this success were honored during the celebration, represented by the Orthopedics department, Nursing staff, Physiotherapy, and Anesthesiology.
