Obstetrics and Gynaecology

The Obstetrics and Gynecology Team at King Abdulaziz Hospital Al Ahsa, is committed to provide high quality and individualized patient care, resident and medical intern training and continued medical education while upholding the mission and vision of MNGHA.

Our first and foremost concern is to provide evidence based patient care and satisfaction.

Our service provides complete coverage to all Ministry of National Guard Employees and Dependents and eligible Saudi citizens in the following fields:

1. Comprehensive Care for all Obstetrics Cases including High Risk Obstetrical Cases with Co-Morbidities

2. Perinatology Services and Counseling

3. Limited Urogynecology and Infertility Services

Resident Training Program in Ob. Gyn. which is fully accredited by the SCFHS.

Department Capacity

Inpatient:

1. Ward 1

34 beds shared rooms, with 2 single rooms and 2 Isolation rooms admit antenatal, postnatal and gynecology patients. Admissions average from 300 to 400 per month with a nurse patient ratio of 1:6 during the day and nights.

2. 2 beds for high dependency unit and the nurse patient ratio of 1:2.

3. Labour and Delivery - It is custom built for Feto-Maternal monitoring with eight delivery beds in six rooms and 2 modified assessment rooms. Two most modern operating theatres are attached to the labour & delivery for elective and emergency obstetrical and gynecology procedures with 2 well equipped recovery beds. We have about 200 deliveries per month.

Outpatient:

The department of Ob/Gyn is providing the following Outpatient Clinics:

There are five (5) Consulting Rooms with shared ultrasound facilities that accommodate Twelve (12) Obstetrics and Gynaecology clinic sessions per week.

1.General Ob/Gyn – all primary, secondary and tertiary Obstetrics and Gynecology services

2.Business Center – caters patient from organizations such as ARAMCO and SABIC, etc.

3.Specialized Services such as:

• Urogynaecology including TVT for Urinary Incontinence and Pelvic Support Surgery

• Endoscopic Surgery – Laparoscopy

• Diagnostic Hysteroscopy

• Infertility Services – investigative, counselling, induction of Ovulation

4.Ultrasound Section such as:

• Doppler

• 3-D scan

• Hysterosalpingogram

5.Home Health Care for Post Partum Patients

6.Maternal Mental Health started for Obstetrics Patients
