Achievements

One of the major achievements for this year is our initial accreditation by the College of American Pathologists (CAP).
Maintaining the quality of JCIA standards throughout the laboratory sections.
Broadening the scope of pathology services with the new implementation of more toxicology tests “Drugs of Abuse” and therapeutic monitoring of some drugs.
Fine Needle Aspiration Clinics in Al Ahsa and Dammam.
Establishing Tumor Board with its multidisciplinary team, where the Surgical Pathologist plays a major role.
Addition of numerous policies and procedures at various sections according to CAP (College of American Pathologists) standards.

Creation of 14 posts for Saudi medical technologists for six (6) months.
Two (2) candidates have already left for:
Master degree in Laboratory Quality Assurance and Healthcare, in Australia.
Master degree in Laboratory Information System in Riyadh, NGHA.
One (1) medical technologist left for Cytopathology curriculum at King Saud University for health sciences, NGHA, Riyadh.
