Musculoskeletal (MSK) Imaging
The section of Musculoskeletal (MSK) imaging is an essential radiological service at the national guard hospitals KAMC and KASCH in Riyadh.
It provides various diagnostic imaging modalities and utilizes appropriate techniques, facilitating proper diagnosis and accurate monitoring for different bone and soft tissue disorders.
The section corporates closely with other specialties, including orthopedics, rheumatology, and oncology, to provide a multidisciplinary approach to patients with musculoskeletal diseases.
Musculoskeletal radiology service comprehensively evaluates different kinds of diseases, mainly traumatic and oncology patients. Various sport-related injuries and rheumatologic disorders are also covered.
The section is responsible for spine-related conditions and works closely with the neuroradiology section.
MSK imaging Operation Capacity
About of 86,000 cases are annually covered by MSK section, including diagnostic and interventional services in emergency, inpatient and outpatient settings.
MSK imaging Scope of Services
- Diagnostic musculoskeletal disorders through radiography, CT, MRI and ultrasound.
- Interventional MSK procedures: joint injection, joint aspiration, and bone and soft tissue biopsies.
MSK imaging Clinical Programs
- Routine MSK services, including: radiography, CT scan, MRI and ultrasound.
- Performing various MSK intervention procedures, including joint injections, arthrograms, and biopsies.
- Clinical and Academic meetings:
- Sarcoma Tumor Board meeting – Monthly with Dr. Mohammed Al Salman
- Adult and Pediatric Rheumatology meeting - Monthly
