Division of General Surgery
Division of General Surgery is the backbone of the surgery department. Our division offers a continuum of care for patients with various general surgical problems. As a result of our clinical expertise and research programs, patients receive a highly specialized assessment. The newest treatment modalities include emerging surgical techniques and coordinated follow-up of their care.
The Division of General Surgery supports the mission and vision of the MNGHA by seeking to improve the health and quality of life of our patients and community through excellence in surgical education, research, and clinical care.
The division provides a variety of procedures and interventions in multiple subspecialties for benign and malignant conditions. This approach is based on multidisciplinary teamwork.

Minimally Invasive & Upper GI Surgery:
Is any surgical procedure performed through tiny incisions instead of a large incision for fast recovery and less pain.

Colorectal Surgery:
Focuses specifically on conditions of the colon, rectum, and anus with surgical intervention when needed, including colorectal cancer, diverticular diseases, and inflammatory bowel diseases.

Oncology & Endocrine Surgery:
We offer skilled surgeons surgical expertise for patients with a wide variety of malignant and non-malignant tumors. Through the diversity of the specialties, our multidisciplinary approach achieves outstanding outcomes.

Breast Surgery:
Our breast specialists provide a broad range of breast surgical services, including preventive care and breast cancer surgery. We treat both noncancerous and cancerous conditions of the breast. Our multidisciplinary team is dedicated to improving your breast health and providing compassionate care.

Bariatric Surgery:
Bariatric surgery provides an alternative option for weight loss for patients who meet the appropriate medical criteria and for whom diet and exercise have proven ineffective.
- Multidisciplinary bariatric program has been approved since 2015.

Podiatry Surgery:
Highly specialized surgeons for foot and ankle surgery treat all diabetic foot patients and other related foot and ankle medical issues.
Training Programs
The General Surgery department is committed to providing a first-class scientific approach to surgical training combined with educational programs that emphasize the development of excellence in the clinical skills required for good medical practice.
Academics and research are an integral part of our organization. We support our surgeons in research, publications, conferences, and other academic activities. We believe uninterrupted learning brings the best out of a clinician, and the organization vouches for it.

Residency Program:
The general surgery residency program is a fully accredited surgical training program leading to eligibility for certification by the Saudi Board for general surgery. The program offers residents a diversified experience in various surgical disciplines. Despite busy clinical and teaching schedules, all of the services develop many new and innovative procedures.
