ACC clinic 403 (Neurology)

The clinic is concerned with diagnosing and treating all categories of conditions and diseases involving the peripheral and central nervous systems. The clinic also deals with Epilepsy Clinic, neuromuscular, stroke, and Movement disorders. Procedures done in this clinic include IV therapy infusions, EEG, and EMG. The clinic consists of 11 rooms and caters to 400 patients per week.​

Scope of Service

Unit Name: ACC clinic 403.

Unit Description: Neurology.

Patient Population: Adult (Mixed Gender).

Hours of Operation:

0800 – 1700 Hours (Sundays to Thursdays), 5 days per week.

No of Beds:

1 Screening Room (2 Desks), 2 infusion Room (5 Beds), 8 Neurology Beds, 6 Rooms for EMG, EEG, VER BED.

Occupancy Rate:

300 - 400 patients per week.

Staff Categories:

Registered Nurse, Patient Care Technician, Unit Assistant, Runner.

Primary Diagnosis:

Tourette's Syndrome, Parkinson's disease, Essential tremor , Obsessive compulsive disorder, Delirium and dementia such as Alzheimer's disease, Dizziness, vertigo, stupor & coma, Head injury, Epilepsy, Stroke (CVA, cerebrovascular attack), Tumors of the nervous system (e.g. cancer), Multiple sclerosis and other demyelinating diseases, Infections of the brain or spinal cord (including meningitis), Prion diseases (a type of infectious agent), Complex regional pain syndrome (a chronic pain condition).

Primary Procedures:

Intravenously administered Alemtuzumab, immunoglobulin (sometimes called IVIG Tysabri (IV Infusion), V steroids be used to treat multiple sclerosis, lumbar puncture, Gilenya. ASSESSMENT REPORT, IV Steroids (methylprednisolone), Botox injections, Rebif® (interferon beta-1a) Injection, Betaferon (interferon beta-1b Injection, Avonex Pen Injection.
