Ward 25​ 


Ward 25 is a 20-bed General Medicine Unit that provides care to adult patients with various general medical needs. We provide care to patients aged 14 and older with multiple illnesses and comorbidities.

Patient Population: Adult; Mixed Gender
Hours of Operation: 24 Hours / 7 Days per week.
Number of Bed: 20 Beds.
Occupancy Rate: 100%

Primary Diagnosis

  • General Medicine, CVA, Diabetes Mellitus, DVT, Patients with multi-organ failure – Geriatrics, Sickle Cell Crisis
  • Congestive Heart Failure.
  • Pneumonia.
  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.
  • Rheumatoid Arthritis.
  • Expanded Isolation precautions(Contact Isolation).

Primary Procedures

  • Tracheostomy Care.

  • Suctioning.

  • I.V. Infusions including Cannulation.

  • Oxygen Therapy.

  • Chest Tube Management.

  • Nasogastric and PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy) Care.

  • Urinary Catheterization.

  • Diagnostic, Interventional Radiology and Nuclear Medicine.

  • NGT Insertion.

  • Phlebotomy.

  • Patient and Family Education.

  • Care of CVAD.

  • Administration of Blood and Blood Products.

Model of Nursing Care

  • Total Patient Care utilizing a partnership model.
Skill Mix: 100% Registered Nurses due to the acuity of patients.
Nurse/Patient Ratio: 1:4

Transitional unit: Diabetes, CVA, dementia, respiratory disease (Chronic Ventilator), TBI, spinal injuries, physical and intellectual disabilities, neurological disorders, muscular dystrophy. Closed head injuries, MVA'S, anoxic brain damage
