These telephones are manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

 Note: DO NOT call the emergency number if your work request is NOT an emergency as this may cause delays to real emergency work.

When you phone in your work request to the Work Control Center, please provide the Work Controller with as much details as possible, e.g.:

  • Your name, department, phone no.
  • Location of requested work order.
  • Description of work.
  • Any relevant information that will enable U&M and Building Services to provide you with more effective service.

The Work Controller will assign a job number to your request. This number is important for later follow-up if needed.  You should record the job number in case of problems. To follow-up your request, Call Ext. 31232 if you wish to know the status of your work order and always remember to quote your job number.

The Work Priorities as following:

Emergency: Call Ext. 31460

This request will have an immediate response and is defined as a serious problem, which threatens one’s life, property, safety and patient care.

Examples:

  • Loss of electricity to an area.
  • Burst pipes causing flooding.
  • Piped medical gases failure.
  • Structural collapse.
  • Air –conditioning plant failure to patient areas.
  • Refrigerator Cooling system failure to patient Area

Urgent: Call Ext. 31460 Or Call Ext. 31233

This request will be attended to before the end of that working day and is defined as a problem which has direct consequences on the quality of patient care provided.

Examples:

  • Air-conditioning plant failure to non-patient areas.
  • Failure of critical equipment.
  • Loss of hot water to an area.
  • Nurse call system fault.
  • Patient bed fault.
  • Water leakage in the apartment.
  • Non-functioning air conditioner unit in bedrooms.

Normal: Call Ext. 31233

This request will normally be completed within five working days subject to availability of materials.

Examples:

  • Light not working.
  • Dripping tap.
  • Domestic appliances failure.
  • Minor air-conditioning repairs.
  • Minor electrical repairs.
  • Minor building repairs.

Electrical H.V & L.V Sections.

Is an integral part of the Utilities & Maintenance Department. Strive to operate and maintain the Utility Systems effectively, with highly skilled technicians in operation and serving the equipments with high quality and assurance.

  • Low Voltage
  • High Voltage

Mechanical Section.

Is an integral part of the Utilities & Maintenance Department. Strive to Operate, Maintain and Manage the Physical facility and Other Utility Systems effectively, while Maintaining Safe Conditions, in Support of the provided clinical Services.

  • Boiler Plant
  • Water Treatment Plant
  • Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning
  • Medical Gases
  • Pipe Services

Electronics & Instrumentation Section.

Is an integral part of the Utilities & Maintenance Department. Strive to operate and maintain the Systems effectively, with highly skilled technicians in operation, serving electronics and optics equipments with high quality and assurance.

Projects Task Force Department.

This Department deals with projects initiated by other Departments to help build the medical and non-medical community on the Medical City to support the existing buildings and other foundation projects, we continually seek constructive relationships with other in the organizations that support the foundation's goals and provide advantages to all concerned to continue there work.
