The pediatric radiology department at King Abdullah Specialized Children's Hospital (KASCH) is dedicated to giving patients high-quality care and improving children's health using new technologies and advanced equipment efficiently and effectively. The goal is to carry out and support clinical, academic, and research activities.
Mission of KASCH Pediatric Imaging
To give patients of the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs the best, most timely, and correct diagnostic and interventional pediatric radiology imaging services.
Vision of KASCH Pediatric Imaging
To be the fully specialized Pediatric Imaging Department that uses the most advanced technology and has fellowship programs recognized worldwide.
Objectives of KASCH Pediatric Imaging

Ensure the highest standards of care in the region.

Increase the capacity of pediatric imaging services to accommodate and serve more patients.

Decrease patient's waiting time for pediatric imaging services.

Utilize and implement new advances in medical imaging to achieve the highest standards of care.

Develop and launch pediatric neuroimaging fellowship training program.

Enhance the research activities through the section.

Contrast enhanced ultrasound.
KASCH Pediatric Imaging Programs

Portable and departmental X-Ray imaging.

Ultrasound imaging for diagnostic and screening purposes.

Fluoroscopy which can be used for diagnostic and treatment purposes as in patients with intussusception.

Computed tomography (CT).

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) for both pediatric body and neuroimaging.

Pediatric interventional radiology which provides therapeutic and diagnostic services.

Solid/lymphoma tumor Board: Twice monthly

Pediatric Neuro-oncology: Twice monthly.

Diagnostic Imaging Residency Program:
- Weekly lectures.
- Day to day direct training with subspecialized pediatric radiology consultants.
Pediatric Body Imaging Fellowship:

Tumor board rounds.

Monthly fellow-driven academic activities for following Pediatric departments: Pediatric Surgery, General Pediatrics, Pediatric Pulmonology and Pediatric Urology.

Improvement in the TAT (Turn-around-time) for ER, IP and OPs.

Maintain 24-hourse role for imaging in-patients.

Improvement in out-patients waiting time though increment of requests number.

Entertain advanced technique for MR imaging e.g fetal imaging and vessel wall imaging.

Participate in conjoint twins diagnostic and intervention procedures.

Increase the number of teaching rounds to other pediatric specialties.

Participate in radiology and non-radiology pediatric and neurology courses, workshops and conferences throughout the kingdom.

Approved expansion of the fellowship program capacity by the Saudi Commission of Health Specialties.

Accommodate more residents during monthly rotation (currently 5 residents per month).
