Respiratory service in NGHA- Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz Hospital well sit with latest Respiratory devices and equipment that allow respiratory therapist to provide the highest quality of intervention.
Scope of Services:
- Obtaining and analyzing samples for blood gas analyses.
- Pulmonary Functional Test.
- Bronchoscopy.
- Sleep lab.
- Assisting in intubation.
- Evaluate and treat the respiratory disease patients.
- Using the ventilator in all intensive care unit with full management depending on blood gas analysis.
- Educate and treat the COPD Asthmatic patients.
- Home care
- Rehabilitation.
- Team member in critical care response team.
Working Hours:
Services are available 24 hours per day, 7 days a week to inpatients. Outpatient services are routinely provided Sunday through Thursday, 08:00 to 17:00.
Achievements:
- Respiratory Department was able to cover all the required services, both ICUs and General Wards despite of our serious manpower shortages, the department provided all the necessary procedures.
- Accommodated 5 orienteers and 1 SCDP in Respiratory department.
- Actively participated in the following team, code blue team and code black team.
- Series of education sessions done for RT staff, nurses and doctors in many topics in respiratory science.
- Provide oxygen concentrator, CPAP and oxygen supplies for patients who required it to be used at home to facilitate their discharge.
- Participate actively in changing tracheostomy for all patients in ICU and Wards.
- Developed 24 educational brochures for our patients with respiratory diseases.
- Successful completion of oxygen purity test, tapping and installation of oxygen in the hospital in collaboration with utility & Maintenance Department.
