MRI Section is a division of the Medical Imaging Department that provides services to inpatients, outpatients and ER patients. We use state of the art MRI procedures to evaluate structures within the body. Procedures include: evaluation of brain for stroke, tumor, multiple sclerosis, and other neurological disease; evaluation of tumors or other soft tissue abnormalities in the neck, abdomen (including liver, pancreas, adrenal glands, kidneys), pelvis, and other extremities. Magnetic Resonance Angiogram (MRA), is a type of MRI, that uses a magnetic field and pulses of radio wave energy to provide pictures of blood vessels inside the body.
MRA procedures include: evaluation of arteries in the brain for aneurysm or occlusion; evaluation of arteries in the neck, body or extremities for stenosis or occlusion; evaluation of veins for occlusion or thrombosis and evaluation of abdominal aortic aneurysms. As the evolution of healthcare continues to point toward non-invasive procedures, the Magnetic Resonance Imaging Section will be at the forefront of technology offering patients and physicians custom studies for challenging cases.
