As the world’s first, the Ministry of National Guard - Health Affairs – King Abdulaziz
Medical City, Riyadh celebrates receiving the HIMSS INFRAM Stage 6 accreditation on Sunday July 7th, 2019, presented
by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS).
This is in line with the MNG-HA’s commitment towards the highest level of technology adoption
and implementation through international maturity models that set standards for healthcare information technology.
His Excellency, Dr. Bandar Al Knawy, Chief Executive Officer of MNGHA highlighted that “MNGHA
aspires to be internationally acclaimed center of excellence to enhance individual and public health status. A
well-established IT infrastructure enables MNGHA to progress toward this vision”.
Furthermore, Dr. Raed Al Hazme, Executive Director of Information Services & Informatics
Division (ISID), MNGHA added that “It is important that our IT infrastructure is robust in order to support
achieving the MNGHA’s strategic objectives. HIMSS INFRAM has significantly assisted us in implementing best
practices and proper IT infrastructure”.
The INFRAstructure Adoption Model (INFRAM) is an international model that assesses the
maturity level of the information technology infrastructure predominantly within healthcare provider organizations.
Assisted by INFRAM, MNG-HA is able to implement information technologies that help in improving care delivery,
reducing cyber and infrastructure risks. INFRAM is also assisting MNG-HA in the continuous improvement of
information technology infrastructure in order to constantly meeting the organization’s clinical and operational
objectives explained Dr. Al-Hazme.
The accreditation was presented by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society
(HIMSS), a global healthcare advisor, providing guidance and market intelligence solutions that move the industry
forward with insight to enable better health through the use of information and technology.
