King Faisal Cardiac Center launched the awareness campaign of World Heart Day
King Faisal Cardiac Center launched the fifth awareness campaign to celebrate the world heart day 2018. An exhibition took place at the ground floor of KFCC building that lasted for two days, where visitors had the opportunity to learn more about the contemporary heart health issues such as; Coronary artery disease, Heart failure, heart arrhythmias, and the danger of smoking. Dr. Jamailah Ruhaimi Head of the campaign, said that early discovery of such issues will be essential for treatment. She added that the campaign this year focused on the most common heart diseases especially Coronary artery disease. Lectures were organized on the second day of the campaign covered the latest update on coronary artery diagnosis and treatment as well as surgical intervention. Other topics covered in the lectures were cardiovascular disease, heart pacemaker devices, anticoagulation management, and nutrition. With the slogan “Be Aware and We Will Take Care” the campaign continued for the fifth year with participation from other medical departments. King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University for health science was represented by Life Support Training center along with Nursing College.
An opening ceremony were held on the first day and it was patronized by Dr Tawfeik Al Yafi Deputy Executive Director, Medical Services-WR and Mr. Ahmed Al Buluwi Deputy Executive Director, Operations-WR.
