Obstetrics and Gynecology

Mother-baby (couplet) care is a critical component of family-centered philosophy. It reflects the family-centered perspective for assessment, planning and delivery of care to women and newborns. Family-centered care sets the tone for respect of diversity in family structure and cultural backgrounds.

The mother-baby unit consists of 18 beds. Provides care for high-risk ante partum, postpartum and gynecological patients. In addition, specialty services of culposcopy and perinatology are available.

In conjunction with World Health Organization (WHO)/UNICEF Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) the unit is “baby-friendly” and promotes bonding and exclusive breast feeding.
