Reproductive Medicine Division
The Reproductive Medicine Unit was established in October 1995 to serve National Guard dependents patients with infertility conditions. Over the first ten years the growth in patients' number and services were dramatically increased due to the King's decree by offering infertility treatment to all Saudi patients.
The Division serve National Guard population and their dependents in addition to referred patients from all over the country who fit the acceptance criteria.
The service include: Assessment and evaluation of infertility cases, treatment of female and male infertility by assisted reproduction techniques: Intra Uterine Insemination (IUI), In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) , Intra Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI), Trans Sperm Aspiration (TESA), Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET) and sperm cryopreservation for oncology and severe male infertility, Oocytes Freezing for oncology patient, operative laparoscopy and hysteroscopy.
The division provides support services like psychologist and nutritionist weekly to enhance patients satisfaction and healthy environment. Pre-Genetic screening /Diagnosis already implemented for cases with suspected genetic predispositions.
The Division is engaged actively in the educational activities for residents and fellows as we are recognized for 3 years Fellowship Training Program by the SCFHS.

Ovum Pick up and Embryo transfer average 400 – 800 cycles / year
No. of Ultrasound average 4000/year
No. of New patients visit average 600 patient/year
No. of Admission average 6 – 12 / year
No. of Surgeries average 150- 200 / year
Reproductive Medicine Unit Scope of Services
The Unit serves all types of Infertility (Primary and secondary), Male Factor, Female Factor, and unexplained infertility. Recurrent pregnancy loss for fertility preservation, Families with genetic diseases for Pre-Genetic diagnosis and all cases needed reproductive surgical interventions.
