Ward 19​ 


Ward 19 is a 21- bed General Medicine and medical sub-specialty unit that provides care to adult patients with a variety of general medical needs. We provide care to patients age 14 and older with a wide variety of illnesses and comorbidities.

Patient Population: Adult; Mixed Gender
Hours of Operation: 24 Hours / 7 Days per week
Number of Bed: 21 Beds
Occupancy Rate: 100%

  • General Medical
  • CVA.
  • Diabetes Mellitus.
  • DVT.
  • Patients with multi-organ system failure – Geriatrics.
  • Sickle Cell Crisis.
  • Isolated Patients: MRSA, VRE MDRO.
  • Congestive Heart Failure.
  • Diabetes.
  • Pneumonia.
  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.
  • Sickle Cell Anemia.
  • Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Primary Procedures

  • Tracheostomy Care
  • Suctioning.
  • I.V. Infusions including Cannulation.
  • Oxygen Therapy.
  • Chest Tube Management.
  • Nasogastric and PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy) Care.
  • Urinary Catheterization.
  • Diagnostic, Interventional Radiology and Nuclear Medicine.
  • NGT insertion.
  • Insertion of CVP Lines, Administration of Blood and Blood Products.
  • Patient Controlled Analgesia.
  • Phlebotomy.
  • Patient and Family Education.
  • Care of CVAD.

All general medical conditions including CVA, COPD, Asthma, TB, MRSA, Hypertension, Pneumonia, Congestive Heart Failure, DVT, Cancer, Pleural Effusion, Diabetes Mellitus, Nephrology and Neurology, Psychiatric disorders including Depression, Personality Disorders, Schizophrenia.
