Residency Program: Recognized by the Saudi Commission for health specialties for Orthopedic Board as one of the most competitive and advanced residency programs in the region.  

The Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program in Saudi Arabia has a rich history of development and expansion:

  • Inception: The first structured orthopedic surgery residency program in Saudi Arabia commenced on April 1, 1994. This initiative, known as “The Joint Board for Postgraduate Medical Education," was a collaborative effort among various health agencies in Riyadh, including the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Defense and Aviation, Ministry of the National Guard, Ministry of the Interior, King Saud University College of Medicine, and King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center.   • Establishment of the Saudi Board: Discussions to formalize the program under a national board began on October 8, 1996, leading to the launch of the Saudi Board of Orthopedic Surgery in 1998 under the supervision of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS

Fellowship Training: Offering subspecialty fellowships in areas such as spine surgery, trauma, Oncology and pediatric surgery. 

Continuing Medical Education (CME):

Regular workshops, conferences, and lectures to foster lifelong learning. 

Sport knee, Upper Limb, Sport hip, Foot & Ankle, Robotic & Knee arthroplasty and total hip Arthroplasty.

Orthopedics crash course started in 2018, for new upcoming residents who joined the program.
