Saudi Arabia's child helpline (116 111) Celebrates the International Child Helpline Day
In the year 2012, child helpline (116 111) gained a great importance that reflects the extent of interest in the various segments of our society and their passion to learn more about child helpline and the various services it provides.
The line receives a large number of calls that vary between the serious, inquisitive and at times silent, but the incoming calls in the recent period from all regions of the Kingdom were mostly serious, as the number of calls received during the year 2012 reached more than (7000) calls.
On Friday, the 17th of May, 2013, Child Helpline International (CHI) will be celebrating the International Child Helpline Day under the slogan (Enable Children and Young Adults).
The aim of the events organized on this day is to raise awareness in our society about the role of these child help lines and spread the culture of empowerment among children and youth.
This year, the Child Helpline division in the National Family Safety Program (NFSP) joins the rest of the child help lines around the world to celebrate this day on Thursday, the 16th of May, 2013 in the Kingdom Tower Mall from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm.
The event will include the releasing of 3000 balloons into the sky, branded with the child helpline number and logo, in the presence and support of a number of well-known people and children charity related organizations.
Souvenirs and awareness flyers will also be distributed among the attendants.
