King Abdullah’s Dialysis Care Project
Under the auspices of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz, HRH Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Second Deputy Prime Minister, Chancellor and Special Envoy of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques will launch the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud International Foundation for Charity and Humanitarian Works Dialysis Care Project on Wednesday, the 15th of January 2014, at King Faisal Conference Hall in Intercontinental Hotel - Riyadh.
The project aims to launch service centers earmarked for dialysis in both Riyadh and Jeddah. Within the first phase of this significant humanitarian project, two centers will open in the capital, Riyadh, and one center in the city of Jeddah. The centers will be equipped with a total of 1,000 state of the art dialysis machines with 475 of them to be allocated between Riyadh and Jeddah.
The second phase of the project entails the launching of centers in Makkah, Al Madinah, Hail, Qassim, and Rafha, which will include a total 230 dialysis machines for patients in need. The third phase entails 295 dialysis machines which allocation will be announced later on.
The plan is to gradually reach a capacity to provide dialysis for 5,000 patients in the various centers in the Kingdom over a period of 7 years.
This highly important humanitarian project acquired is of great importance for the health community and the general public levels. For being an extension of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz ‘s commitment to charity and to serve the nation and its citizens, all stakeholders were prompted to double their efforts in facilitating all the necessary procedures regarding the launching of these centers.
It is worth noting that the National Guard Health Affairs is a contributor in providing the operational and supervisory support to launch these humanitarian centers. It will also offer highly qualified medical and health care professionals to accommodate to the increasing numbers of patients undergoing dialysis in the project’s first phase. That is in addition to the advisory and administrative support provided by the NGHA in support of this tremendous national project.

To ensure the level of quality provided to patients with renal failure, the centers have been equipped with the highest medical and supervisory experts who are well-experienced in dialysis treatments and therapy.
Moreover, insuring the compliance of the service provided with globally recognized standards with taking into account efficiency in: anemia treatment, parathyroid gland treatment and nutrition as well as complying fully with international medical standards for infection control.
