Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Hospital in Medina Achieves 100% Commitment to Patient Safety
Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz Hospital of the Ministry of National Guard’s Health Affairs in Madinah region has a new record achievement in providing quality health care and operational services, Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Hospital renewed its commitment to the implementation of the standards of the program of basic national requirements for patient safety (ESR) by the Saudi Center for Accreditation of Health Facilities (CBAHI), where it Achieved an overall compliance rate of 100% in the evaluation carried out by the evaluation committee of the Saudi Center for Accreditation of Health Facilities during its visit to the hospital which was on December 6, 2023, which it conducted a comprehensive evaluation process in a rigorous and transparent manner, where all systems, processes and performance methods were tested to verify the efficiency of clinical practices, in addition to the safety of facilities and equipment in all aspects of patient safety to ensure that they comply with the approved and applicable national standards.
Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Hospital has succeeded in adhering to all the standards of the National Basic Requirements for Patient Safety Program, which includes twenty basic requirements standards that must be fully adhered to to ensure patient safety from healthcare-related errors.These standards include a mechanism to ensure correct patient identification, a specialized committee to oversee the infection control and prevention program, a safety system for drug handling, medication error reporting, safe blood transfusion, radiation safety, and other requirements.
The Executive Director of Medical Services at Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz Hospital, Dr. Turki Al-Wasidi, explained that Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz Hospital is in a continuous and permanent endeavor to improve the quality and efficiency of health care services and patient safety, and reaching this milestone reflects the efforts of Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Hospital cadres in providing advanced health care services by adhering to the highest national and international standards in the field of health care and patient safety. Dr. Turki Al-Wasidi also expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the hospital's team and all the competent departments that contributed to accomplishing this achievement.
