​Emergency Medicine

An emergency department (ED) is the front door of the hospital, with its prime objective being the provision of timely, accessible and appropriate emergency health services to patients with acute illness or injury. Emergency departments are also primary care centers, providing a variety of additional services to meet community and hospital needs.


The mission of the ED is to provide safe, high quality and timely care to patients seeking emergency treatment; to offer outstanding educational opportunities for medical, nursing and allied health personnel; and to further medical knowledge through the pursuit of research.


To become the emergency facility of choice by providing the highest quality care and service excellence, thereby setting the standard for emergency care throughout the Kingdom.

  • To provide timely, culturally sensitive, consistent safe nursing care to all patients.
  • To encourage staff towards independent practice with respect to assessment, prioritizing and initiating emergency patient care.

Type of Service:

We provide emergency medical care to all patients presenting with an emergent, urgent or a non-urgent condition(s).
