Department of Adult Mental Health


The Department of Adult Mental Health ensures timely access to services and supports adult populations' mental health needs, enabling them to live, work, and participate in their communities. The department sets standards for effective care to promote recovery and maintain a better quality of life for patients and their families.
The department sets policies, promotes self-determination, protects human rights, and supports mental health training and research. This essential mission is accomplished by partnering with other agencies, individuals, families, providers, and communities.
The Adult Mental Health Department promotes mental health through excellent clinical care, education, and research. We envision a future where mental health is an integral part of overall health, and mental health care is an essential part of all health care.

Department Capacity

The Adult Mental Health Department clinic operation in the morning from 8:00-12:00 and afternoon from 1300-16:00 hours. Each clinic has a predetermined number of new and follow-up patients. Over-booking slots are also available for urgent referrals to fully booked clinics. They would be utilized at the discretion of the consultant. Moreover, we cover the entire hospital for all patients admitted in the medical or surgical wards who need psychological intervention. Furthermore, our on-call team covers patient attend to the emergency department 24/7.


We provide support to university students by an assigned clinic on the university campus, specifically at primary care centers and student Wellness clinics.

There is an employee wellness clinic open for staff once a week.

The department collaborates with Child and Adolescent and behavioral sciences to provide the best care for adolescents.
