Department Capacity
Administratively, the Department of Cardiac Sciences consists of the following:
- 4 sections, 2 Laboratories & 20 departmental committees with a broad interdisciplinary representation.
The department clinically consists of the following:
- Inpatient Adult & Pediatric Services: Coronary Care Unit 6 beds, Intensive Adult Cardiac Care Unit 6 beds. Cardiac adult ward 18 beds, Intensive Pediatric Cardiac Care Unit 6 beds. Cardiac Pediatric ward 6 beds àtotal of 250-350 admission per month.
- Outpatient Adult & Pediatric Services: a total of 44 adult clinics Including: Rapid Access Clinics, Atrial Arrhythmia, Heart Failure, Adult Cardiology, Adult Cardiac Surgery and Telehealth Clinic. A total of 11 pediatric clinics including Rapid Access Clinicsà total of 10000 patients annually are seen in the clinic
- Cardiac Catheterization Lab.: 3 labs including adult/ pediatric intervention & electrophysiology services à total of 200 patients per month
- Cardiac Noninvasive Lab: including echocardiography, stress studies, trans esophageal echo, ECG, pacemaker, tilt table, 24 Hrs BP monitor, and 24/48 hrs holter monitor with almost 15,000 cases done per year.

Inpatient Adult & Pediatric Services: including ER & hospital consultation
Outpatient Adult & Pediatric Services; including Rapid Access Clinics, Atrial Arrhythmia, Heart Failure, adult cardiology, adult cardiac surgery, pediatric cardiology, cardiac anticoagulation and Telehealth Clinic
Cardiac Catheterization Lab: coronary intervention, structural heart intervention & electrophysiology
Cardiac Noninvasive Lab.: ECHO transthoracic & transesophageal, stress testing, ECG, Holter, tilt table test & Ambulatory BP monitor.
