Screening Service:

It's the main entrance to our department, where Primary Health Care and tertiary Pediatric Clinics send patients. This service aims to confirm the reason for the referral, show that the child meets the service criteria, get the parents' permission for the service, and work with them to form a "working alliance" or "strength-based partnership".

Comprehensive Service:

It looks at emotional, behavioral, or developmental problems in children and teens from many different points of view. Psychologists, speech and language therapists, family therapists, and psychiatrists work as consultants, residents, and fellows on the team. This thorough evaluation aims to come up with a correct diagnosis and/or a plan of care centered on the child and tailored to his or her needs.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder program:

It is a complete program for children and their parents diagnosed with ADHD. The program offers the most up-to-date treatment options. It ensures that children and their families get the best advice for care based on their individual needs. The ADHD team works on various research projects, such as trials of medications and changes in behavior, to improve how ADHD is treated.

Autism Program:

The group has started a big plan to help families and parents of kids with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Children, teens, and their families can enjoy the evaluation and assessment done by a skilled multidisciplinary team and the care given by the professionals who are part of the team based on evidence. It also offers parents the best tools they can get to take care of their children. To reach this goal, the best methods tailored to each child's needs are used, along with fun ways to teach that help kids improve their social communication, language, social responsiveness, sensory processing, and motor skills.

Anxiety program:

This comprehensive program with a specialized clinic offers the most up-to-date management plan. The program promotes mental health through education, awareness strategies, and a cognitive-behavioral approach. The treatment plan at the specialized clinic is the most up-to-date one. It includes both psychopharmacological care and care for mental health.

Psychiatry Outpatients Service:

With this growing service, patients can get care in the hospital, home, or school. The service is designed to be run by consultants. It helps kids and teens with mental health and behavior problems get evaluated and treated as outpatients and inpatients. There are also subspecialized psychiatry programs and clinics that offer the most up-to-date testing and treatment. There are clinics for Early Onset Psychosis, Adolescents, Autism, Anxiety, Emergency Backup, Organ Transplant Workup, and ADHD.

Family Therapy programs:

Programs look at ways to teach many mental health professionals evidence-based family therapy. These services help the family members of kids with mental health problems to ensure the family is healthy and improve their quality of life. These programs also teach eco-systemic Structural Family Therapy and other methods that are good for a child's age and development for dealing with mental health problems.

Psychometric service:

It is one of the few places in the area that offers a full range of psychometric services. The goal of the service is to meet the needs of children's assessments in many ways, such as cognitive, developmental, and behavioral assessments, and to find out what the strengths and weaknesses of each patient are. Also, make suggestions for the therapist or doctor who referred the child, the family, and the school system to make better strategies and management plans. This service uses many assessment tools that cover a wide range of subspecialties in child mental health and pediatrics. The psychometric service has done a lot of research and translated and tested many tools so that they can be used reliably in our community.

Speech therapy service:

This service helps children who have trouble communicating get treatment, support, and care that can change their lives. The service gives people something to do so that a diagnosis can be made and finished. Parents also get advice on how to help their child improve their social communication skills. Also, families and the school system are given a set of recommendations that were made together to help them develop better plans and strategies.

Inpatients Service:

Our interdisciplinary team is made up of a consultant psychiatrist, a fellow, a resident, a psychologist, and a family therapist. This group works around the clock to help connect the different pediatric wards and offer advice. Part of the expanded service, which is available 24/7, are emergency services, referrals to specialists, and follow-up plans for outpatient clinics within two weeks.

Training programs:

Our department is accredited as one of the only two centers for Child Psychiatry Fellowship Training in KSA. The department is also an accredited training center for psychiatric residency training program as well as psychology internship program. Child Mental Health team provides a comprehensive training in all aspects under direct supervision of well-trained psychiatrists and therapists including family and speech and language therapists. The program also offers weekly interactive academic teaching sessions as well as group supervision, journal club and case conferences.

Multidisciplinary Joint Services:

Our department provide joint service with other divisions include; cochlear implant program, Spina Bifida management, cleft Palate assessment and SCAN teams. Our department has established guidelines to work with these populations in order to provide mental health assessment/ management through a holistic approach.

Parents & teachers' workshops:

Our department provides as part of the specialized programs periodic structured parents training programs in addition to circular workshops virtual and face to face. Parents programs and workshops aims to increase parents awareness and to equip them with parental skills that help them deal with their children mental health difficulties. The department delivers workshops targeting teachers and other allied health professionals to promote mental health wellbeing ,early detection and intervention.

Parents handouts and service brochures:

Our department has variety of materials that provides required mental health information including paper format psych- educational materials for parents, teachers and general population as well for children, to increase their awareness and equip them with healthy coping strategies.
