Recommissioning Plan

Further to the recent closure of the King Abdulaziz Medical City - Riyadh due to MERS-CoV outbreak, and after comprehensive review through several meetings by MNGHA leadership, I am pleased to share with you the re-commissioning plans and actions implemented to successfully re-open the clinical services on October 4, 2015.

• Allocation of Surgical Tower as temporary Isolation Units
• Establishment of Corona Management Team (CMT)
• Chaired by Dr. Adel Al Othman, Section Head, Adult Infectious Diseases
• Department of Medicine
• Establishment of Corona Preparedness and Response Team (CPRT)
• Chaired by Dr. Thamer Al Anizi, Director, Hospital Epidemiology, IPC Program
• Initiation of MNGHA Infection Prevention and Control Training & Competency Program
• Establishment of Call Center (Telephone Nos.: 011 - 8010000)
• Chaired by Dr. Tariq Debassi, Director, ACC
• Establishment of Medicine Admission Unit at Riyadh Care System
• Chaired by Dr. Hamdan Al Jahdali, Deputy Chairman, Department of Medicine
• Establishment of Bed Management Department
• Chaired by Dr. Ali Al Khataami, Consultant Neurologist, Department of Medicine
• Establishment of an overall organizational transformation and modernization plan
• Comprehensive facilities upgrade in the ER, Wards and various locations at KAMC-Riyadh
