Endocrinology
The Division of Endocrinology at King Khalid National Guard Hospital is committed to providing the highest level of care for PATIENTS with disorders of the endocrine system. The goal of the section head of Endocrinology is to pull the division together and make it a place where the following 3-fold mission is smoothly integrated:
To provide excellence in patient care;
To provide outstanding educational opportunities for medical students, residents and fellows
To perform cutting-edge basic and clinical research on endocrine diseases, diabetes, thyroid cancer and metabolic bone disease.
The Endocrinology service holds multidisciplinary clinics such as:
Thyroid Cancer Clinic – It is a tertiary referral clinic to the Western Region from North to South, whereas Endocrinology, Head & Neck Surgery and Radiation Oncology are scheduled to provide consultation once a week.
Gestational Diabetes Clinic – Combined clinic of Endocrinology and Obstetric is scheduled with diabetic educator to assess the condition of the fetus and the mother.
Adolescent Clinic – Once a month clinic. Adult Endocrinologist is sharing the care with the Pediatric Endocrinologist of the adolescent patient before transferring to Adult Endocrinology.
