Emergency Medicine is the medical specialty dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of acute illness or injury. It includes the initial evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and disposition of any patient requiring acute medical, or surgical care.
As part of IABFH, the Department of Emergency Medicine’s mission is to provide high quality, and safe Emergency care in a timely manner with dignity, privacy and compassion for all patients.
This is achieved through Integration of timely, pre-hospital care, rapid triage, prompt resuscitation and stabilization, and appropriate disposition of all patients.

Current services
1- Acute Care area (Internal ER):
Provides expedited care to highly acute patient (CTAS Level I, II and III) this area can handle conscious sedation, rapid delivery and emergency procedures. Patients seen into this unit are expected to stay for less than four (4) hours. This area contains
2- Fast Track area (External ER):
This area contain 7 beds and its best utilized as quick assessment and minor intervention of patient and also can serve as overflow of patient needs observation such as rehydration patients. Patient seen in this unit should be fit for discharge without delay for further management or lengthy interventions and procedures.
3- Respiratory screening area ( Porta cabin):
This area was established to screen, triage all patients with respiratory symptoms and to manage stable suspected acute respiratory illness
4- Emergency Medical Services (EMS):
Our EMS service provides:

Urgent Pre-Hospital treatment and stabilization for serious illness and injuries within the catchment area

Transfer patient from catchment area to the hospital
