The Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs records the success of performing endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty procedure using a single-channel scope for the first time.
The Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs – King Abdulaziz Medical City in Jeddah recorded the successful completion of endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty procedure, placing three internal sutures without the need for surgery. This was done using a (single-channel) scope, the first of its kind in the Kingdom, which facilitated the procedure and reduced the risk of side effects.
This procedure was performed in the Gastroenterology and Endoscopy Unit, took one hour, and the patient was discharged from the hospital the following day in excellent health, praise be to Allah.
