The Food and Catering Services Department at Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Hospital in Medina Achieves ISO 22000:2018 Certification
Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Hospital at the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs in Medina has documented a new achievement by obtaining ISO 22000:2018 certification for its Food and Catering Services Department, based on the international standard for food safety. This standard is based on the principle of having a comprehensive preventive system to protect consumers from foodborne illnesses, providing complete control over all operations within the food chain.
The Food and Catering Services Department received the certificate on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, from "LMS Assessment Limited," a specialized organization in global accreditations and a leader in issuing quality certificates, through its accredited representative in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The department, with its qualified Saudi personnel and advanced operational techniques, demonstrated its eligibility to obtain ISO 22000:2018 certification, reflecting a comprehensive management and monitoring perspective of the entire food and catering services system at Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Hospital.
The certificate was presented during a ceremony hosted by the Food and Catering Services Department, where Dr. Abdullah Al Sulfeeh, head of "Specifications and Quality Company," presented the ISO 22000:2018 certificate to Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Hospital. It was received by Mr. Salah bin Mohammed Al Harbi, Deputy Executive Director of Operations, in the presence of Mrs. Reem Batis, Head of the Food and Catering Services Department, and several departmental staff. Mr. Al-Harbi delivered a speech on this occasion, praising the effort undertaken by the Food and Catering Services Department, which culminated in achieving international accreditation, highlighting the excellence of Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Hospital in Medina in all areas of comprehensive healthcare services provided to patients through medical and operational services.
On this occasion, Mr. Mansour Al Askar, Executive Director of Operations, emphasized that this achievement reflects the concerted efforts of the Saudi workforce in the Food and Catering Services Department, which applies the highest international standards for excellence in providing nutrition and catering services. He added that the operational management at Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Hospital is diligently striving to provide the required support and overcome all operational challenges to achieve excellence and superiority in delivering services to all beneficiaries of Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Hospital including patients, visitors, and employees.
