In keeping with the Mission of the Organization, the Department of Protocol in KAMC-MNGHA is committed to effective and efficient utilization of resources in achieving optimal patient outcomes through the provision of:

Vision


In line with the Nursing Service’s vision, the Protocol Department aspires to the provision of quality Medical and Nursing care centered on the patient and family, with the utmost respect for the VIP and Royal patient’s client’s confidentiality and safety, as well as providing a responsive dynamic service to meet client needs.







Patient Flow


VIP patients can be admitted through the ER / or admitted electively into any of the inpatient units. The protocol department manages all elective and emergency adult and Paediatric admissions and manages the bed allocations. The Nursing Supervisor for Protocol services will arrange the Nursing and equipment component depending on the bed allocation, the acuity and status of the patient with the clinical teams, BioMed, and informs the DCN of the protocol of all high-ranking patient admissions or clinic visits (Royal clinic, RawdAh clinic).


  • Wards 16 A and B are allocated to medical and medical adult specialties. Ward 16 C is allocated for adult surgical cases because of its location in the surgical tower and proximity to the Surgical tower ORs and ICU.
  • Royal patients are admitted into 16 Room 1 or 2, Ward 33 rm 11, Ward 34 rm 16 or 1701, 1702 1703 based on their protocol requirements and MPD ranking.
  • VIP and Royal Paediatrics are admitted to KASCH Paediatric wards in the VIP section. Pediatric nurses are specifically trained to manage their clinical care and protocol requirements.
  • Nursing Care can also be provided to high-ranking patients in their homes as directed by the HE, the CEO, or the general director, on a case-by-case basis based on nursing needs assessment.













KPI (Key Performance Indicators)

Appropriate evaluation allows the team to reflect on performance and constantly review processes to improve service delivery for our patients. Key performance indicators and other data are collated daily and examined against benchmarked standards. Challenges are analyzed, and possible solutions are considered.​
