Home Healthcare Chemotherapy program was launched at King Abdulaziz Medical City – Riyadh, in collaboration among Home Health Care, Pharmacy, Nursing, and Oncology departments. The aim of this project includes the following:

To provide high quality health care services and safe medication practice to patients receiving chemotherapy at home through KAMC-R HHC services.

To ensure continuity of care with comprehensive follow-up.

To minimize /Avoid unnecessary hospital visit by patients.

To improve oncology patient's experience and quality of life.
To ensure delivering this program with high quality standards, several comprehensive meetings have been held to develop guidelines, policies, and procedures to guarantee that qualified HHC medical teams administer chemotherapeutic drugs safely and select eligible patients properly.
On October 23, 2024, the first patient, an elderly patient with cancer and limited mobility, was visited by the HHC team and received chemotherapy treatment. Since then, the HHC team has visited multiple patients, and as of this week, they have made over 45 visits.
