The Department of Social Services in King Abdulaziz Medical City – Jeddah at the Ministry of National Guard organized the (International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and Children) with the slogan (Awareness is your right) in cooperation with the National Family Safety Program of the Ministry of National Guard -WR, on Monday, December 12, 2022, aimed at preventing and eliminating violence against women and children through public awareness.
Dr. Alia Al-Amari, Director of the Social Service Department, explained that the holding of the Day to raise community awareness regarding women's and children's rights and to protect them from violence by identifying its types and ways of dealing with it and how to address all forms of violence against women or children of different kinds Help mitigate the negative impacts faced by women and children through some educational and awareness stations during the educational exhibition with the participation of some internal department of King Abdulaziz Medical City such as :
Health Promotion Services - Nursing Services - Clinical Nutrition Department – Pediatrics Department, Play Therapist, and the National Family Safety Program – WR, in addition to some external participants such as the Comprehensive Rehabilitation Centre, General Directorate of Family Protection, Refq Society, Human Rights Society, King Abdulaziz Bin Saud University, King Saud University of Health & Sciences – Jeddah.
Dr. Al Amri added that through this awareness day, health providers are educated about the transfer mechanism for government agencies in case of violence against women and children, identify health providers and outpatient about regulations, laws and special procedures to reduce the phenomenon of domestic violence through the participation of the protection agencies of social protection centers and community associations in society, and Enhancing children's outpatient awareness of ways to protect themselves from different types of violence such as bullying and others.
The educational awareness exhibition accompanying the event was opened by the Executive Director, Operations WR, Mr. Abdulaziz Al Harazi, Deputy Executive Director, Operations WR. Regional Director, Family Safety Program Dr. Sarah Abed, Chairmen, Pediatric Dr. Mona Dabbagh, Bed Management Dr. Ibrahim Al Omary, and other department heads.
