This online symposium is part of a series of activities to be delivered during the 8th World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week which is celebrated every year at MNGHA and is promoted by the World Health Organization.

This specific symposium will have international and local speakers and aims to:

Discuss the current status of Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) national action plans in the Eastern Mediterranean region
Identify the importance of empowering the National Action Plans on AMR in EMRO and need for strengthening planning & implementation
Identify gaps and opportunities in AMR in EMR
Discuss the experiences of Antimicrobial Stewardship efforts in the GCC and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Discuss the role of non-governmental organizations, such as International Centre for Antimicrobial Resistance Solutions (ICARS), in the fight against AMR
