  3. To understand the pathophysiology of respiratory failure and its different causes
  4. To know the indications ” clinical respiratory conditions” for utilizing noninvasive ventilator support (CPAP) as early mode of respiratory support to relief respiratory distress
  5. To be familiar with different modes –types of noninvasive ventilator support
  6. To identify clinical and biochemical contraindications of using noninvasive ventilation and its potential complication
  7. To be familiar with different modes of invasive mechanical ventilation including high frequency ventilation

  9. To be able to recognize the malfunction of different mechanical ventilators used in infants and children.
  10. To be capable of recognizing the   potential complications of mechanical ventilations in infants and children
  11. To understand and control the interactions between the ventilated infant-child and the mechanical ventilators.
  12. To be familiar with different modes of monitoring the mechanically ventilated infants-children
  13. To be able to recognize the signs and symptoms of respiratory recovery or deterioration and to know how to respond to improvement or worsening of the ventilated patient
  14. To be familiar with different approaches utilized in weaning off infants-children from mechanical ventilators to familiar with potential problems that may complicate taking the patient off the mechanical ventilators.
