Breast Cancer Awareness Month was founded in October 2006 to raise awareness of breast cancer risks; many websites around the world chose the color pink as a logo for their awareness campaigns. Breast cancer is the second cause of death after lung cancer among women, and according to the World Health Organization (WHO) statistics, more than 1.2 million cases of breast cancer are diagnosed each year and more than 500 thousand cases die from this disease.
