The Department of Emergency Medicine in King Abdulaziz Medical City – Jeddah is a 33 beds department operating 24/7 with a mission to provide timely and state-of-art emergency care. We are dedicated to improving the outcomes of acutely ill and injured patients through high-quality, evidence-based, cost-efficient care. More so, high-level education and research. We have taken giant steps in quality improvement and quality interactions with our patients and are still making headway towards excellence. We are working closely together in collaboration to continue, improve and maintain our achievements.

Capacity

Average of 60 thousand visits per year

The average percentage of admission of these visits is 20%

• Three (3) Triage beds
• Three (3) Rapid Assessment Rooms
• One (1) Procedure Room
• Twelve (12) Rapid Assessment Zone beds
• Ten (10) Intermediate Care beds
• Nine (9) Critical Care beds
• Six (6) Respiratory unit beds

Scope of Services

Our demographics are broad and variable, including Trauma, Cardiac, Pediatrics, Oncology, and all medical and surgical emergencies. They consist of the National Guard soldiers, employees, and their dependents. And any critically ill or injured patient in need of urgent intervention.
