The King Abdullah International Medical Research Center (
KAIMRC) aims to be the premiere research facility in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Part of achieving this goal is having all researchers, current and potential; meet the International Conference on Harmonization's Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP) standards when conducting research.
The first step is providing researchers an outline of the basic principles. KAIMRC is offering a one-day course on "ICH-GCP Basic Standards for the Conduct of Clinical Research". The course will run from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
There will be an examination given at the end of the course. Those who pass the exam will receive a certificate of "Successful Completion of Examination in ICH-GCP Basic Standards”.
Only those researchers passing the exam will be considered qualified to be Investigators and able to submit proposals for grant funding at KAIMRC in the clinical domain only.
Dates for the "ICH-GCP Basic Standards" course are posted on the KAIMRC website. The course will be offered twice a year.
The twelfth course is on 13th of November, 2014. Please contact Mrs. Samia Malek at:
gcp_edu@ngha.med.sa to enroll.
Seats are limited to 30 attendees.
Fee: 100 SR.
Researchers may opt to study independently and take the examination only. The dates and times for those exams are posted on the KAIMRC website.
Anyone failing a course-independent exam twice will be required to take the course.
The certificate of Successful Completion of Examination in ICH-GCP Basic Standards is valid for two years. After the two year period re-examination is required, as regulations change and we wish to have all researchers up-to-date on the international standards.
We appreciate everyone's effort in achieving NGHA/KAIMRC's goal of becoming the premiere research facility in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Understanding and adhering to ICH-GCP Standards is integral to that success.
