Surgical Nursing Care Services
The Surgical Care and Business Center provides one of the prestige “Quality Patient Care Services in the kingdom. We conduct various highly complex surgical procedures with specialized equipment and the latest technology.
Our directorate employs around 650 Registered Nurses and several hundred other medical professionals, administrative and support staff. All nursing staff under the surgical division are experts in pre and post-operative management and are registered nurses with assistance from management and the operational support team.
The Surgical Care and Business Center directorate has 25 Operating Rooms, which according to our statistics, conducts an average of around 1547 booked patients per month (18,564 booked patients per year) and 1401 Done cases per month (16,812 done cases per year). There are a Main and six other Satellite Post Anesthesia Care Units (PACU) across the division and an Endoscopy Unit that caters to both Inpatient and Outpatient.
They are eight inpatient acute surgical units in total, in addition to Day Care Facilities for adult patients 14 years and above. The Adult Day Care Unit (ADCU) and Medical Day Care Unit- Infusion Unit (MDCU) caters to ambulatory patient who requires day care procedures and same-day admissions service where patients arrive at the Day Care on the day of their Surgery and are admitted to inpatient units post operatively.
The Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs has its specialized Burn Unit, which operates in collaboration with ICU/Surgery and is the ONLY institution known for having the “Largest” Trauma Center in the Middle East.
