Acute Surgical Care Unit ASU (Adult Day Procedure cases – Mixed specialty)
A short-stay surgical unit for managing emergency pre and post-surgical procedures requires 72hrs admission or less. Primary patient diagnosis includes ENT surgery, general surgery, plastic surgery, and orthopedic surgery. Patients are mainly admitted from the ER room.

Patient Population: Adult Mixed gender
Hours of Operation: 24 hours per day / 7 days per week
No of Beds: 10 bedded ward.
Occupancy Rate: 100%

- Epistasis.
- Septal Hematoma.
- Septal Abscess.
- Nasal Bone Fractures.
- Foreign Body Nose.
- Oral / Oropharyngeal Lacerations.
- Peri-tonsillectomy Abscess.
- Post-tonsillectomy Bleeding.
- Foreign Body Airway.
- Foreign Body Esophagus.
- Superficial Neck Abscess.
General Surgery:
Non-complicated Acute Appendicitis.
Acute Anorectal Conditions (prenial abscess and prolapsed hemorrhoids).
Acute Soft Tissue infections (abscess etc.).
Orthopedic Surgery:
Closed reduction of fractures.
Closed reduction of dislocated joints.
Removal of foreign bodies.
ORIF distal radius and carpal bones.
ORIF foot fractures.
Plastic Surgery:
Hand fractures.
Lacerations (skin, tendons, nerves and vessels).
Foreign body removal.
Urology surgery:
Ureteric stone.
Urinary retention.
Torsion of testis.
