Main PACU
A post-anesthesia care unit provides care for patients post-surgery/procedures under general anesthesia, regional-spinal, epidural, IV sedation, and local anesthesia. Primary patient diagnosis includes: general, gynecology, urology, orthopedic, Ortho and Neuro Spinal surgery, plastics, burns/plastic reconstruction, neurosurgery, thoracic, vascular, ophthalmology, ENT, maxillofacial surgery, dental, organ harvesting for transplant surgery, laser surgery, minimally invasive procedures, and trauma.
Unit Description: Main PACU – Adult Post Anesthesia Care Unit.
Patient Population:Adult – Age 14 and above. Mixed gender post-surgical/procedural patients.
Hours of Operation: 24 hours per day / 7 days per week.

• 14 in Main PACU
• 3 in LandD
• 1 in MRI and 1 Angio
• 4 DCOR

Primary Procedures
- Post anesthesia recovery care of post-surgical / procedural patients who had received:
- General anesthesia.
- Regional – Spinal, Epidural, Caudal, Femoral /Axillary block, etc.
- I.V. Sedation (MAC).
- Local Anesthesia.

Total Patient Care Utilizing a Partnership Model.
PACU RNs are rotated through all areas.
