ACC Clinic 202 (Pre-Anesthesia / Anti-Coagulation)
Pre-anesthesia Clinic provides medical check-ups and laboratory investigations done by the anesthesiologist before an operation to assess the patient's physical condition and any other medical problems or diseases from which the patient might be suffering.
The assessment aims to identify factors that significantly increase the risk of complications and modify the procedure appropriately. The anticoagulation clinic is to monitor patient coagulation profiles; The Clinic consists of 10 rooms and caters to 500 patients per week.
Scope of Service
Unit Name: ACC clinic 202.
Unit Description: Pre Anesthesia Clinic (PAC) / Anti-Coagulation / Aviation.
Patient Population: Adult (Mixed Gender).
Hours of Operation: 08:00 – 17:00 Hours (Sundays to Thursdays), 5 days per week.
No of Beds: 10 Exam Rooms, 1 Treatment / Procedures room, 1 screening room.
Occupancy Rate: 700 per week.
Staff Categories: Registered Nurse, Patient Care Technician, Unit Assistant, Runner.
Primary Diagnosis: The assessment of patients who will undergo anesthesia to identify the risk and the suitability of patient to the proposed surgery, aviation-screening clinic, anti-coagulation.
Primary Procedures: Physical and Psychological Assessment, Pre Op Teaching, Air Crew Health Clearance, Anti-coagulant POC.
Model of Nursing Care: Total Patient Care Utilizing a Partnership Model.
